An acoustic guitar is more convenient, you can also hook it up with a pick-up so you can plug it into an amp!.

any way, what do you play!? it also determines what type of guitar you should buy!.

a performance requiring a guitar on the distortion effect would look crappy with an acoustic guitar!. and vice versa!.

remember, you can always change the sound of your output with guitar effects!.

for acoustic guitars, I would recommend OVATION

for electric guitars, IBANEZ or GIBSON

prices!? dude cheap guitars means shorter life!. regardless on how you handle them!. but still handle with care!. ehehe

about the pick!? using a pick doesn't affect on how easy or how hard you will learn!. it's up to you if you want it to be easy or difficult!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Acoustic is good to start out with because it will allow you to have a better idea what a guitar sounds like!. Once you understand how they sound, it will help you if you start playing electric acoustic and/or electric because you will be able to discern sound better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if ur not interested in the acoustic genre anyway, i dont really see a point in getting an acoustic guitar!. there big, expensive, and they have a totally different feel than an electric!. also, the concentration of the pickup on the strings are different, as in the acoustic it is only in the strumming area, but in an electric its actually equally as concentrated in the fret bars themselves!. This is the reason why you can finger tap and do solos easily on electric, while good finger tapping is nearly impossible for acoustic!. if ur going for pop rock just get an electric!. the price will differ widely on which guitar you get!. you get a good one like a les paul or stratocastor, it will cost you at least 1000, but if you get just a regular old electric from yamaha or something, the cheapest ones go all the way down to like the 100s!. and id say its easier to learn with the pick because then ur concentrating on how to press ur chords instead of the finger picking!. hope this helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com

What I've done is started on Acoustic but also have an electric!. I'm going to buy an electro-acoustic when I have practised enough!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
