must agree with MFG doing that exercise will pull your chords back together a little and focus your sound!.!.!. Although having an "airy" sound is pretty, if not done properly it can cause damage over time!. I would work on trying to get more of a focused sound!.

ex!. (focused sound is like singing in a straight line, making sure that each pitch is exact and pulled forward on your soft palate!. non-airy sound is a general lifted palate, which is good for choirs but you should work on trying to pull your soft palate to the middle) It's such a balancing act because you don't want to be too forward because then it's boarder line "nasal" but you do need a little bit in order to protect your chords!.!.!.

hope this helps a little

oh and I would say that you are a mezzo-soprano and that your break is changing, which is why you're encountering issues!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i can answer the first question but not the second!.!. when ur teacher says that ur voice is "airy" it means taht ur singing thru your throat and your puttin too much breath into ur notes!.!. when i started singing my voice was like that!.!. its normal for a singers voice to be airy at times!.!.

i cant answer ur second question cuz im a bass =D hahaWww@QuestionHome@Com

Your range looks like mezzo-soprano!.

To improve your voice, sing the word "sing" and hold in the "ng" position!. Then, "hum" in this position, scales, your song, or whatever!. It helps a lot!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try singing from your diaphram!.!.!.when you get "airy" you get pitchy!.!.!.!.that means that your voice is not on key!.!.!.!.
try to always match your voice to the key, the best voice is sung from your diaphram!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

answer1: yes, airy is bad!. the conductor for the choir I'm in said that girls' voices change, not as much as boys' do, and that they get breathy while their voices are changing!.!.
2: high E as in above the staff E is extremely high, and top line of the staff E is average for sopranos!. Low A is low for you, but nt for altos like me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
