I did google but I can't bare to look at the pic, that sick sob will be stopped.

OMG wow, I cant believe someone is actually allowed to do that. That is not art. That is animal abuse. I am actually disgusted by this.

that is extremely sad. he should go to jail for animal abuse. no one should buy any of his artwork.

i hraed about it, it's horrible. what's even more horrible, is that another gallery liked the idea, and they're bringing him to do it there too, to another dog...

no, it's really sickning

NO WAY thats aminal abuse and is punishable by law!!

It's terrible. That person is a sick freak. He should die a painful death of starvation and see what it feels like. He should pe punished by the law in execution. Animal abuse needs to stop. Don't step on these poor defensleless creatures, step on the sick, wrong-minded creeps abusing them, step on their deranged, demented minds and their cold, empty non-exsistent hearts.

OMG that is upsetting. What's more upsetting is to see the people standing around looking at other art like "oh it's just art....."

See, this is why liberals get such a bad rap: because they're COMPLETELY reactionary!! And I'm a liberal!

IF YOU DID ANY RESEARCH AT ALL rather than relying on someone else's version of the story, you would see that the dog was tied up for three hours during the exhibit times and that, according to the gallery owner, the dog was fed by the artist and sadly ran away after a day.

The focus of the piece was not the dog, but a social study in human action and interaction. The dog food could have easily been nudged within the dog's reach by any of the many patrons WHO FILED BY, CHOOSING INSTEAD TO DO NOTHING.

Instead of being vilified, the artist should be praised for exposing humanity's inherent undercurrent of animal abuse.

Im not really sure what to belive as far as what happened with the dog itself at the exibit. Regaurdless of weather the dog actually died, was released, or actually escaped the thing that really bothers me the most is that nobody did anything to help this animal. The reality of the situation is this-
Yes. This was cruel.
Yes. It DOES happen every minute of everyday everywhere in the world, just not in a gallery.
Yes. We do live in a world where the less fortunate surround us on a regular basis.
Yes. We DO have the ability to do something about it.
Yes. Most of us are so self absorbed we stand by and do NOTHING.
The sick reality of this exibit and of the state of the world we live in today is blatantly obvious here.

I work in the pet industry, and with animal rescues on a regular basis. Nobody likes to see an animal suffer, but what Ive found is that alot of people feel bad for these animals, but in actuality, really want to do little to actually help them out. Most people here in America can justify going out to eat and spending 50 dollars or more on dinner in a fancy resturaunt. They come into my store (we sell holistic pet foods, not pets) and cant justify spending far less on a bag of dog food that is going to last them a month or longer, and is better for the animal. We have rescue pets in the store, they come in, say how sorry they feel for the animals, walk right out and do nothing. The sad reality of this is that dog wasn't all that much differant then the thousands being executed right now down at your local shelter right here in our own backyard. Not to mention the millions probably being tortured in laboratories and factory farms all across the world. Most people would rather buy a puppy from a pet store that came from a mill then rescue the type of dog you see in the pics online. When are we going to change? I honestly dont see why everyone is so shocked nobody did anything! It happens everyday. WAKE UP!!!!!!
Is this Art? Wikipedia says:
Generally art is a (product of) human activity, made with the intention of stimulating the human senses as well as the human mind; by transmitting emotions and/or ideas. Beyond this description, there is no general agreed-upon definition of art.
I would personnally have to call it art because it did do just that for me. Its just NOT the type of art I would like to see more of. I dont think that art has to be morally correct in order to be considered art. Also just because its art dosnt mean its not other things too- like animal cruelty.
