Guitar, Classical. Carcassi, Guliani, Bach, Lully etc...
The Guitar is an instrument of difficulty if you don't practice daily. It has as many octaves as a piano. The pianist gets to use two hands. Guitarists have one to pluck, and one to hammer. I love it. I also play Nuesidler from the 16th century.
The guitar is endless. You can never learn enough.
It is a perfect instrument.

Acoustic piano is my favorite instrument because of my strong classical background in piano playing.

But I am also a jamband fan as well as a classical fan.....so I was thinking of getting my second favorite instrument.....the Fender Rhodes keyboard. But I can't get it....our house has too much stuff and we already have 3 keyboards.

Classical guitar, but I'm rubbish at it. Still, it's only for me.

I've played over 100 instruments in public and a few dozen others in private--including such ethnic oddities as the tupan, the shakuhachi, the bulbul tarang. I like flute best. It's easy to carry, it requires little maintenance, it's easy to assemble, and it doesn't involve sticking the mouthpiece inside the mouth.

Basically, I love all string instruments and would love to learn to play others but I never get round to it.

I love to play the oboe. My second favorite is the english horn, then the harmonica, then the guitar, then the recorder, then the trumpet (I'm not very good), then the clarinet. But the clarinet is only number 7 until I get a flute and a saxophone and learn to play those and the clarinet gets pushed off of the list completely. Wood winds are so much fun.

I have to agree with Sarah Saxophone. Yes, saxophone is the real deal for me. There's just something sophisticated about it. It always gives a jazzy sensation.
