uhm, that's really random.
i don't play cello but i play violin and i've always wished i had chosen to play cello instead. i like that it's sort of the middle instrument when it comes to pitch. it's not shrill like a violin and it's not ultra low like a base. it has both melodies and harmonies in songs. and it sounds beautiful!

watch this and you'll know what i mean.

better reputation?

cello is whack

learn the violin

Playing an instrument makes you smarter.

the only reason should be because you want to

i guess if u like music and the cello

Its good to know how to read music.. i don't know why you would want to play the cello though. If you like it then learn to play it.

because it is a beautiful instrument

If not a cello then learn to play something. Trust me it will pay off later in life. (Women love that stuff.) I wish I had learned piano. I play keyboard by ear but its not the same thing. Anyway it may sound dumb and maybe nerdy to play an instrument now but dude you wouldn't believe how cool it is now. (I am in my 40's) good luck to you.

they have cello in classical music and it will make you use more parts of your brain which will make you a lot smarter as they say. and you get gey scholarships cuz its not that many people who play so you can sound more intillegent....hope i spelled that right

There are many good reasons to learn how to play an instrument. The cello is a beautiful instrument that not many people can play, so there will be a better chance of you getting into a honor's orchestra by playing the cello. Also, it is good to put down on an application for, say, college, that you play an instrument. The cello is unique, and takes time and patience to learn, but once you master the technique, you will have a rewarding experience for the rest of your life! Good Luck, and Happy Playing!!

'Cause it is a gorgeous instrument!

Learning any instrument is a beautiful thing.
I played cello and it's a great instrument.
If you're thinking about playing it, it's great and it was very easy to learn. (It kind of depends on how musically inclined you are) But I'm sure you will enjoy it.

you should appreciate the fact that you are financially fit enough to actually learn to play the cello. i dont have the chance to even play the violin coz my family's too poor to buy a violin for me. let alone a cello. so, appreciate what you have, fool!

In general, low string instruments are always in high demand by orchestras everywhere. Good bassists and cellists are hard to find these days, and people are willing to pay quite a bit to keep them. If you're just starting, I'm sure your school orchestra director would love to have you!

my friends play cello and unless you really try it is hard to squeak/scratch. i played violin and like it also but wished i did cello instead. also the cello usually isn't the melody(main part of song) because that is mostly the viola and violin's job so there is nothing too hard to play in the harmony which is what cello does
