Question:i've heard that everyone can sing, its just that not everyone knows how to use their voice. i sing all the time in my car, shower, and in my room. everywhere. i love music. i just don't sing well. i can actually sing along very well when i hear someone else's voice. i play the guitar, and can hit notes when i hear the pitch and its accompanying me. otherwise, its a lost cause. its frustrating, and i could use a little inspiration and tips possibly for improving, and practice tips would be nice too. i want to be able to sing along with my guitar without just embarrassing myself. i don't expect to be the next AMERICAN IDOL, i just want to be able to sing to entertain and have a good time

Well, thatt's actually not true about everyone being able to sing - some people are just 100% tone deaf and can't do anything about it, unfortunatlely. However, that's obviously not you, so no worries. (:

Here are some tips that my voice teacher taught me:

1. Your soft pallete (stick your tongue way toward the back of your mouth - without gagging ;D - that's it) should always be raised. To do so, pretend someone has said "BOO!" and gasp like you're scared. If you look in the mirror will doing so, you can see what it looks and feels like. That is how it should always be. Picturing your mouth as a dome could help, too.
2. Make sure you're taking deep, low breaths - this should be accomplished by expanding your stomach, not raising your shoulders. To know how much your stomach should be expaning, lie down on the ground and breathe in alll the way. That's how much you should be breathing in.
3. Don't push the notes out; rather, go over them. To help visualize this, as you sing, pretend you're making a SLOW overhand throw and picture the movement as your voice.

I hope they help, and good luck!

I went to a voice coach and they helped me tremendously. I didn't sing well before but now I know how to control my voice well enough to actually pull it off! Sometimes you can't help yourself.

I took voice lessons for 3 years, with 2 sisters!
I knew I could sing!
He told me they held me back, go Solo!
I wanted to, but did not!
It is all about your Diaphragm!
A muscular division between your chest and abs!

Deep breathing and Relaxation help so much!

Bless and best wishes!
I pray, already!

Go far!
I want your first autograph! xo
