I am a fan of Seymour Duncan...

Try the Livewires or Active Blacks, they're great alternatives to EMGs....

EDIT: Wow, I'm so amazed that BC Rich put some 50$ pickups on a 700$ guitar. Seriously - they may be pretty decent pickups, but can they really be all that good? I'm not very impressed with BC Rich or their pickups.

The ticket to selecting good pickups is working with the tone of your guitar's wood and getting the same output that fits your needs. For instance, if the schechter has mahogany in it, you don't want a pickup that has a lot of bass in it - mahogany is naturally a little bassy, and you run the risk of getting a muddy tone. It would be better to select a pickup with moderate bass and plenty of treble to balance out the mahogany's lack of treble-response. Make sure that it's a high-output pickup and you have a well-balanced tone, and a guitar that can play different styles well but still kick **** when you want it to.

The reason that I put the link below is that it gives EQ for each pickup. Really light guitars might lean more towards Invaders, but heavier guitars might want to lean more towards Duncan Customs or Duncan Distortions.

Of course, it's a great idea to read customer reviews... that would be second link below. (and no, I won't judge you for getting the Rockfields or whatever, I'm just trying to help you make an informed decision - just because company x uses certain pickups doesn't mean you should)

Finally, something to consider may be putting a preamp in your guitar - if the basic tone of your pickups is pretty decent, they're just not pushing enough volume, an onbaord preamp might do the trick. I know that EMG makes one, for instance. It can be installed fairly easily, usually with no extensive modifications, by any qualified guitar tech or someone handy enough with a soldering iron and some experience.

Good luck, either way!

Try some Rockfield pickups.

Perferably the Fat a** or the Mafia ones. They are only $50 each

BC Rich has these on a $700 Warbeast so that tells you something right there.

Or try a set of Gibson. The 500T in the bridge and a 496R in the neck set. These are $100 each.

You can find both names of pickups here.

Good luck

EMG 81 / 85 - Active pick-ups are going to make the biggest difference.
