Position:Home>Performing Arts> Can you teach yourself to sing?

Question:I LOVE to sing but IDK if I'm good at it. I started singing a little over a year ago and I've gotten WAY better at it since. i didn't take lessons or anything, I just started singing my favorite songs. Like don't say i'm stupid, but I love singing all the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus songs. And I can actually sing "Life's What You Make It" now and I never could before cuz i couldn't go that high. So I must have improved right?

Of course you can teach yourself to sing... there's no problem with it. You just do as you've been doing.. it's saves a lot of $$$ and it's very impressive to be able to do that yourself. Maybe you can find a way to record yourself so you can hear how you sound and stuff, that would really help. You go girl!!!

You can teach yourself how to sing, I think it takes longer as you have nobody else to hear your voice try a tape recorder and review yourself that's how I did it

Hope I helped!

Well, your range may have improved, but without a coach or classes, there's no way to tell if your breathing, intonation, or reading skills have. If you're serious about performance, take the classes. A skilled instructor can have you improving far quicker than you can improve on your own.
