Position:Home>Performing Arts> Guitar questions?Question:Alright, I've wanted to learn guitar for like three years now. I'm left handed, so it really sucks, but I'm going to learn right handed and get a left handed guitar like next year and teach myself. I do that a lot. Well, I was looking at guitars and I found the average is like 39", I guess that'd seem about right. How long are your guitars? And my friend says hers has 24 frets, most of the ones I find are like 21 or 22, does it really matter? And how hard do you think it will be to teach myself guitar, left handed. I already have a teacher that I'll go to, he's one of my best friends. ;D And anything you can tell me about guitars would be helpful. You can play anything with a guitar like that. Rarely do I ever even have to touch the 18th or 19th fret on my strat. On a side note, if you have the cash, get yourself a semi-decent guitar to start learning with. Something like a standard mexican strat (they can come lefty). It makes learning much easier than a bargian box cheapo guitar. you can get a right handed guitar and string it the opposite you can than use it as a lefty guitar.i have two buddies who are lefties and thats how they string their acoustic guitars they been doing it that way for 20+ years. Ibanez offers some pretty good left handed guitars. But you can also try just changing the strings from EADGBE -to- EBGDA. |
