Pianists out there?? a good prelude?

Question:hi, i have a ceromony in about a month and i need to present a prelude or something that is about 2 to 3 minutes. I like powerfull fantasy like music, such as rachmaninoff debussy chopin also. doesnt necessarily need to be one of them but u know, the style, anyways can u guys indicate any songs that you guys know that fall under that category or something that you find beautiful? thankyou guys so much

lots of people are going to say Bach's Prelude in C major from the first prelude and fugue - as wonderful as this piece is, its over played and people grow faint of pieces that are heard too often...

Avoid Pachabel's Canon which happens to be the most ridiculously composed piece on earth. If you want something fresh and beautiful try these -

Bach Prelude and Fugue in E major Well Tempered Clavier Book 2 - the Prelude there is a beautiful trio sonata arrangement for keyboard. Very intricate melodies interwoven but a real sense of grace and charm.

Brahms - Intermezzo in A major Op. 118 #2 - A beautiful tender and dolce theme. This is a good piece to open a ceremony with. I often use it as an encore.

Liszt - Consolation #2 or #3 - Both evoke beauty in away that is natural and organic. Audiences will love #3 because of the dramatic climatic build up and the sensitive dynamics required to perform it. #2 moves in and out of keys with ease and delivers a really nice character.

Bach - Prelude and Fugue in A major from WTC Bk 1. A spirited gavotte like dance in 3 voice texture. Lively but avoid playing it too fast as the dance character will then be lost. A fun little piece.
