Position:Home>Performing Arts> Elixir Light Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings?

Question:I want to get new guitar strings because I broke my E chord and I want to basically just change all of the strings. I am new to guitar so I dont really know much about it. Is that a good brand for guitar strings? I just heard good stuff about them. What the difference between them and the other ones? Thanks :)

as the music shop to check your guitar's bridge and nut for burrs or anything that can cause a string to break. sometimes it's a string wearing out, sometimes it's over-tightening the string, and sometimes it's a burr or sliver or some other defect in the hardware.

I love Elixirs. Nickel-wound means a little more mellow than normal steel strings (and more organic sounding, to my ears) and coated means they last a lot longer than uncoated strings. I advise you to get some GHS Fast Fret or Guitar Honey as well, as this will help you play a little easier and will "buffer" you strings a bit as far as finger oil and all that goes. Wipe your strings off after you play them and it'll prolong the life of your strings even more, as well.

Ask the music store about getting a setup, whether you need one or not. If they say you need one, get it. A guitar needs to have good action and be in tune all the way up and down the neck. It'll cost you, but a guitar that plays well is a much easier guitar to play - and one that stays in tune and sounds right up and down the neck will help you train you ear, too.

Alot of people love Elixir's because they play sooo smoothly. If this is your first time at changing strings, I suggest you take your guitar with you when you go to the music store to buy strings and ask them to change them for you and show you how. Most places dont mind doing that if your buying strings thru them.

elixir by itself is great, but the nanoweb is a coting which makes the strings last much longer and be smoother in slides and stuff. they are one of if not the best strings out there
