Question:i am new to this stuff so i need a pedal that can last and does not cost much(like 100 or less) for sustain and distortion, and is esay to work thx

o and one more question when you have pedal/s does hat mean u you need more cables or what can u plaese explain thx again

For every pedal you will need another instrument cable, yes.

I'm not sure what type of distortion you want, but a few good ones are the Big Muff, the Boss DS-1, the Boss MT-2, and ... hmmm. That's about it, really.

As far as how they sound, the Muff = Bush, the DS-1 = grungey Nirvana to general rock to punk, the MT-2 = metal metal metal Pantera to Slayer.

Oh yeah, and a Tubescreamer or a clone will give you more of an overdriven sound. Bad Monkey? Hmm. Bluesy stuff, I guess.

Distortion gives you compression and sustain, in case you were wondering.

Umm I play bass and use a enhanser. I have to use one instrument cord to go from the instruement to the pedal, then another to go from the pedal to my amp.
