Position:Home>Performing Arts> Is it smart to try and make an original screenplay and insist i have a part acti

Question:I'm an idea person, I'm currently looking for someone to co-write with. I'm not wanting to be the main character, just one of the supporting characters ( in just about all of them) but I'm not sure if anyone would want it if i insisted i have a part in it if it was to be made into an actual movie. what should i do?

It's yours! So you should definately do the part if you want it. In this day and age, it's the performer's responsibility to market themselves. We can't rely on agents and auditions as much as we'd like to. Be creative as you are now and have fun! Best to you! :)

yes,stick to your guns

Have you seen Good Will Hunting?

That's what Matt Damen and that other guy did for that movie. They wrote it and played in it.

Good idea!

Good luck!

Look at M. Night Shyamalan
He plays supportive roles in almost all his films
"Signs", "The Village"

Look at Steven King
He's in alot of them

Go for it, if they could do it, so can you

It's a risky idea, I mean people are going to tell you all of the times that it worked out, but still be careful going into the idea that you make sure you know this about the screenplay, not your acting, you just have a desire to act as well.
