What guitar type and guitar strings should I buy for playing bossa nova?

Question:I want to learn to play bossa nova. Do you have any recommendation on guitar types or brands suitable for bossa nova?

I heard that a classical guitar with nylon strings is ideal as nylons produces softer sound. Plus classical guitar are relatively cheap. With US$300-600, I would be able to buy a decent guitar wouldn't I?

Also I appreciate for tips on what kind of sound I should be looking for when selecting one.

woops- get the D'ADDARIO PRO ARTE strings with the guitar. yes, get a good nylon string guitar. i have a Favilla from the 30's but i really dont know much about classical guitars. good luck!!
