Hey Chica,
If you love singing as much as you say you do, and you are very good at it, then you will be singing a long, long time. There will be many times when you get the solo, and times when someone else will. Learn to be strong.

If your teacher senses immaturity or a lack of commitment in someone from the choir, then they will not trust them for a solo part.

Sure, it is important to sound good, but you need to have a level head in this business. The strong will become divas by experience, not merely by singing solos.

Your future holds thousands of auditions! Be on time, be prepared, thank your auditors and move on. Good Luck!
