Position:Home>Performing Arts> Should i be upset over my part in "Seussical Jr."?

Question:Ok so at my school we are doing the play "Seussical Jr." and i got the part of a bird girl. I was really disappointed at first because i thought it was a pretty small part. But now im not so sure. My friend got the part of Gertrude and that made me kinda jealous, because that is a pretty big part. Can anyone else that has been in this play or seen this play tell me what this part is like?

Lucky Seussical Jr. is a fun play to do! In the play that I was in the bird girls was a pretty big part they were onstage a lot and were like backup singers and it was cute. So I don't think it's anything to be upset about at all!
Enjoy the show it's really fun! Peace :D

Any part is an honor, my dear. You're there to help tell the story. Look at it this way -- someone who didn't get cast at all would gladly do your part, even though you consider it small.

Then again, you're free to withdraw from the production. However, that would be detrimental to getting cast in any future productions at your school -- reputation is the only thing of value we have in the arts.

If your primary concern/goal is to feed your ego and be the center of attention, you are free to put together a solo concert somewhere. And no, I'm not being flippant.

i have never seen theplay sadly. but be happy with your part! i was tessie in annie and its not that big of a part. i had 3 solos and couple of lines and i made the best out of them. it is also very fun just hanging out with the drama club. sometimes when people are absent you fill in for them. it really is fun! hope you have a great time and remember there are no small parts only small actors!
