Position:Home>Performing Arts> I'm trying out for ensemble at my High School, any song ideas?

Question:Im trying out for my high school Ensemble (about 15-20 kids) in April. Its a very exclusive show choir thats a smaller group and more selective than the other choirs at my school. Im going to be a junior, my first year trying out and i really want to make a good impression. Im an Alto, and am having a hard time finding a song that i'd really love to sing for tryouts. I like to be showy so upbeat songs are always fun, but slower songs can work just as well too! If you have any suggestions at all, let me know!

Ooh! I have a few...

"My Strongest Suit" from Aida
"All for You" from Seussical is definitely cute, but more alto-y.
(Also from Seussical: "One-Feathered Tail", "Amazing Mayzie", "Amazing Gertrude", " "Notice Me, Horton")
"Not For the Life of Me"
"The Life of the Party" from The Wild Party,
"Mix Tape" from Avenue Q
"Show Off" from The Drowsy Chaperone
"Inside Your Heart" from Bat Boy, the Musical
"Diva's Lament" from Spamalot.
"My New Philosophy" from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (if you're seen as more cute than sophisticated, if you know what I mean, this is an EXCELLENT song).

And GOOD LUCK! I would love to be in Show Choir, but alas, my dancing skills are next to none. xP
