An agent will get 15-20% of all the income you receive from singing (even if he didn't get you that particular job).

An agent's primary job is to find you places to perform--read up on what to expect or not expect them to do for you, and NEVER sign a contract without having and entertainment lawyer look at it first.

I'm pretty sure you give them a percentage (normally about 20%) of the wages you receive for singing/performing.

yes. it's a tough job.

usually, you pay a flat rate for them to represent you (although, sorry, I'm not sure what the rates would be). Then, once you started getting work, you would pay them a certain percentage of your wages, which can vary from 15-35%.

Good Luck!
Hope I helped. ??
