Position:Home>Performing Arts> What's the difference between a vibrato and a trill on guitar?

Question:Vibrato is a waver in one note, and you get it by shaking your hand (or by shaking the entire guitar). A trill is a rapid back-and-forth from one note to the next higher note; you get it by hitting the first note and then doing hammer-on/pull-off as fast as you can to the next note.

So hard to explain--let's try another way. For vibrato, you don't change frets, you just move your hand so that your finger wavers slightly while on one fret. For trills, you do change frets.
