Position:Home>Performing Arts> VERY sharp clarinet!?

Question:I used to not have any problems with intonation on my clarinet, but recently it's been playing VERY sharp. Like it's a whole Half tone off. When I play my B flat it sounds like a B (not B concert). I've tried everything from switching to different sizes of reed, to trying different barrels. Even when I pull out, it is still very sharp. Help!!!
I play on a Buffet B-12, with Legere 2 , Rico Reserve 3, and Mitchell Lurie 3 reeds.

it started playing sharp all of a sudden?

sounds like a leak somewhere in the instrument.
take a look at your corks, then your pads, then you pad springs,...you may be able to actually see or feel the problem.

your best bet is to take it to an instrument technician!

If it is only on a few notes, take it in and get it checked. If that doesn't help maybe better posture or air quality. Ask your instructor if you have the correct embrasure. Otherwise, it may just need fixed.
