Question:Is there a name for lights in the wings (side lighting) that is used for dance concerts? Not shin busters....i want them above waist level and to light the bodies on stage. Thank you!

They are usually just called side lights, as you say. The specific type instrument usually used is a leko or ellipsoidal, in newer systems, specifically Source Fours or Source Four Juniors. You would want to used a focusable lensed ellipsoidal reflector rather than a PAR or flood, because you don't want a flood of light shining on the leg curtains (and you want a clean beam that will travel a decent distance).
