Singers who have had vocal nodes, I have a question?

Question:How much does a trip to the ENT to check for nodes cost?

I think I might have nodes. And please do NOT answer if all you're going to say is, "I'm not sure... but if you think you have them you need to get it checked out ASAP! Vocal nodes can permanently damage your voice!"

I understand what vocal nodes are.

But I want to know how much it costs to go find out for sure.

Well depends where you're from ? It costs around $90.00 for the intial visit, then around $185.00 for the throat test .They put a tube down your throat and they can see whats happening on a computer.

I have not had them myself, but a singer friend of mine suspected that he may have had them.

He went to his doctor who referred him to the ENT department of the local hospital.
He got an appointment quite quickly, so he had no need to go private

As it happens, he didnt have nodes, just a mild infection, but it felt the same.

Also, wanted to add - It also depends entirely on your insurance. For instance, I have great insurance that I really like, but I have to spend $500 a year before they start paying. I've spent that already this year, so if I were to need to go to an ENT, now it would be free. Before the $500, I would have paid the whole fee. This is just one plan - depends.
