Yamaha and Alvarez have low and high quality guitars. If you want the best quality and workmanship for the money,look up the Blueridge line of guitars. They are hand crafted in China. China and South Korea have companies making fine hand crafted instruments. Washburn has a line of guitars that are made overseas that are high quality,solid woods,and are beautiful instruments.I own 2 blueridge guitars,(BR-140&BR-160 models), and will put them up against any guitar on the market. They sound and play as good as any Martin guitar that cost $1000 to $5000. However if you can afford a Martin,Gibson,or Taylor guitar, they will hold a better resale or trade-in value. Good Luck!
