Of course it affects your performance. When you're five your age affects your performance. It always will...that's just how the human body works. But it's never too late to start singing and 24, DEFINITELY isn't too late. I mean look at people like Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston and Paula Abdul who are STILL SINGING! So go for it! (= Break a leg.

I started MUCH later and am doing quite well. Unless you want to sing opera, which my teacher says you should start at seventeen, then you are fine. There are people in their sixties and above in my classes.

I started taking voice lessons at my local college when I was 23.

well i believe the younger you can start something the better.but at 24 you still won't be too old .you can totally start at 24.but if you really feel passionate about the voice lessons i would go on and take the classes now.the worst thing is to get into life and end up losing those things that mattered the most to you and just give up.when your younger you still have the energy and passion to pursue what you love.just don't give up the voice lesson thing if it's something you love!!! and ask yourself if the plans you have now are actually what you want to be doing.good luck with it all!!
