Position:Home>Performing Arts> How to get noticed soon?

Question:I want to get noticed. I think I have a strong voice and I don't have any stage fright at all. I really would love to do recordings in studios.. or even try some Broadway Musicals. I am 18 years old... and I want to "get the ball rolling"

Any ideas or where to go so I can start?

that's the big question for allllll performers, isn't it? the best answer i have is... perform. as much as you can. the more people who see you, the better your chances of the right people seeing you. try to make valuable contacts. try to start a band. record a demo with some good samples of your singing abilities and pass it out to as many people as possible.

as for musicals... same principle. check craiglist or other websites, check community bulletin boards, look for local auditions and casting calls.

best of luck!

Save a little money and get a voice coach. Use him/her to both help you improve your voice, and to evaluate whether you have commercial potential.

Based on that assessment, you may want to then book time at a studio, record some tracks and get further critiques. You'll probably need to look at this as a long-term process, not a single event.
