Position:Home>Performing Arts> I have to sing in front of my guitar teacher.. HELP!!!?

Question:Today I had my first guitar lesson because I really want to learn how to play it and I really want to sing along too. I hope to become famous someday; [doesn't everyone?] but anyway that's my dream.. I have every right to dream.

But anyways, so my Guitar teacher just left and he said to go on the internet and find a song for me 2 sing for him. I have NOO idea what song to sing for him; and I am SO nervous... I am kind of good at singing though.

But I'm not sure if I just think that or if everyone does... I've never sung for anyone before except for myself.

So any tips on how NOT to be shy to sing in front of him?!!?

THANK U SO MUCH!! =D

A good song for this would be "Only Hope" by Mandy Moore, from the movie A Walk to Remember.
It's slow and pretty and a good song for a beginning guitarist.
A slow song is also easier to sing for someone else because you won't rush it from nerves too much.
Contrary to the above, DO NOT close your eyes!!!
Practice the song in front of the mirror.
Also, when you sing in front of other people for the first time or at auditions, your heart races, so before you practice singing, jog in place or do jumping jacks to get your heart going.
But mainly, you should just try to feel comfortable in front of your teacher, especially if you want to be 'famous' one day.
It also helps to practice in front of your family. Give them a little performance. It really helps!

" In the End " by Linkin Park
(Bcoz that's my favorite)
Ha ha ha ah ha....

Tip: *** CLOSE YOUR EYES ***
(the best way)

Don't be nervous. Pick "wish you were here" by Pink Floyd. Not too hard on guitar and pretty easy vocals. He's there to help and probably has heard some pretty terrible voices already. Goodluck.
