Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: what do you reccomend for a once a week dance class?

What type of dance you should take really depends on what kind of movement you want to learn. If you are looking for something to improve your posture, make you more graceful, and improve your flexibility, then ballet is probably your best bet.
However, if you are interested in Musical Theatre and that sort of stage performance, you might want to take a jazz dance class.
Tap is great, but is usually an add-on to one of the above classes and may not give you much of an all around dance "education".
While hip hop is cool, when you take a hip hop class, you have to accept that this is a skill that really is not particularly useful off the street, or out of the club. However, hip hop is still is as fun as any of the above types of dance.

I hope this helps, good luck!

hip hop

atleast you can use it at parties and whatnot

hip hop

Ballet is very pretty, and tones your whole body. It also makes you graceful.

maybe break danving you can use it for parties people will love it trust me

depending on what you like.. i like hip hop and jazz and i'm trying tap.. but i dont like ballet but my friend loves it.. so just depends on what u wanna do.. whenever you start HAVE FUN!

Hip hop- fun and energenic.
Ballet- slow and lots of flexibily to do.
Jazz- Mixed between Hip Hop and Ballet.
Salsa- energenic
Irish- Interesting.

You Pick.

Tap Dance, its sooo fun i took it for 3 years. plus it gives your legs a good work out.

I think it depends on what is best suited for you. What kind of music do you like? What dances suit your body type? Are you graceful? Do you have rythm? It's all about what you can do. If your graceful and maybe petite, I suggest ballet,. If you have strong rythm I suggest Hip Hop. If you like slow steady try ballroom. If you like something slow but with flavor I suggest jazz. If you like a fusion of jazz's flavor and ballet's gracefulness then I suggest lyrical. Just think about it! Best of Luck!
