My voice...?

Question:OK, I know that NOBODY likes the sound of their own voice, so how do I know if mine is pretty or not? I don't like it, and I take lessons. I especially don't know if it's pretty because I hear different things: my brother and sister say my voice is awful, raspy, and annoying, and then my friends, mom, and singing teacher say it's clear, beautiful, and lovely. I don't know what to believe! Are my brother and sister being brutally honest, and my mom, teacher, and friends saying it to make me feel better? I don't know, they seem genuinely awed when they hear me sing. I just wish I could hear and know for sure whether or not my voice is pretty myself!!!

P.S. I've also been told I have a perfect ear, sing in tune, and have a strong voice but not too loud and overpowering.

Let's face it. Your singing teacher is the only expert in the group. If you indeed have perfect pitch (easy to test), and have a strong, clear voice, then you have nothing to worry about.

Audition for a musical - or join a chorus. In other words, if you are really concerned, get a second EXPERT opinion and tell your siblings to put a sock in it.

I think your voice would be perfect! (Except I have never heard it! lol.) I don't like my voice, it's to high, i sound like a mouse. my sister (22 years old) makes fun of me. i am 10.
