Guitar sizes are pretty standard, although there will be some fluctuations, and there are some that are bigger, and some smaller for children. If you're a violinist, you should be able to handle a standard size guitar.

As for the 3/4, you may want to try a 4/4 size if it's feeling a bit small. A rough way to judge the size: Take a 4/4 and put it up like you're going to play, but reach out with your left hand to try to grab the scroll. If it reaches up and around the scroll, it's the right size. If you can't quite reach it, it's too small. At least, that's how I was taught to judge size when I was learning.

I actually just inherited a 9/8 size violin, which is slightly bigger than a 4/4, but it suits me really well. I just had to stretch my left hand out some. My 4/4 fits me fine, but this one suits me better. But I had no trouble picking up a guitar.

i play the violin 4/4 its the biggest size the adult size the other sizes are for kids or for people with really short arms. if 3/ is too small then go to 4/4 if you are planning to play for a long time then just use the 4/4

Guitars are pretty standard....there are some exceptions.....you can buy smaller ones for very young children....and there are bigger ones like the large Gibson....with the F holes in the body.....but if your thirteen I think that the standard size ephinone will be fine for you !!!!! good luck !!

If the 3/4 violin is kind of small for you at this age, then you are ready for a 4/4, full-sized, violin, and a full-sized guitar will be no problem for you. Now, a huge dreadnaught Martin might be a bit of a problem.

Anyway, you're already getting an Epiphone Dove? OK, then the decision is made--play the thing.

If you are not locked into the Dove yet, then you might do well to go shopping at a big music store. They'll let you try out several guitars; find one that FEELS right.

You should go to the guitar store and try to play as many guitars in your price range that you can find. Choose the one that sounds and feels the best. If you know someone who plays then see if you can get them to come along to help. This is the best advice I can give you.

Go online and find a bunch in your price range and write down or print out the make and model numbers. (The store prices will be higher usually) You can use the paper to take notes about what you played and whether you liked it or not.

Some sites are musiciansfriend.com and samash.com

just get the regular size of guitar. almost every guitar is the same size. if it's a little big on you, it's ok you'll grow into it.

I don't think you should get a smaller one though because you'll get used to playing something that's the wrong size and also smaller guitars have less full and powerful sound.
