Is classical guitar the hardest to learn?

Question:It is quite difficult to compare classical guitar to jazz guitar but it comes down to these two styles.
The essence of jazz is improvisation which is not taught in classical music so it is hard to compare the two styles....apples and oranges, I am afraid.

I would love to post you some links to my favourite youtube clips of classical guitar but the links are not working.

Personally, I think classical guitar is the hardest but many jazz fans would disagree. Joe Pass was my favourite jazz guitarist and if you have not heard him play then you should.

compared to what?

in the styles of guitar it's probably the single style with the most demanding physical dexterity, the strings are really wide apart, that makes it harder to play but more suited for finger picking i guess. i still prefer to finger with my acoustic rather than use a pick.

acoustic guitars i find are more versatile, you can play much more styles with it and you can finger pick just like a classical, you can even play classical tunes on it.

So creatively i think other guitars are more difficult but if you just want to learn really difficult composed pieces probably classical is the most difficult, but checkout tommy emmanuel and andy mckee on youtube and you'll see there's alot you can do with an acoustic including learning really complex difficult pieces.
