i would go for something simple (not to long and no high pitched stuff etc...) but its got to keep the crowd going... i would go for something out of high school musical, hannah montanna, britney spears etc something easy to remember and sounds good

whats sort of songs do you sing well (pop, opera, etc)

Sing your heart out, sing loud and true.
Have a hippy happy, tippy tappy Tuesday (;

You are becoming the age where it will be more and more difficult to win. It is okay to lose; I know it's hard to lose, but use the loss to build your skills and stretch for more and more difficult songs. As for what you should sing; no one can decide that for you. You know what style you do best....country, jazz, pop, etc. Make sure that it's difficult but that you are comfortable with it and have it learned well in advance of the performance date. Make sure that you give attention to your stage presence, too. A great singer is boring if they have no stage presence. good luck!

If you can hit some really high soprano notes, I highly recommend singing "Climb Every Mountain" from Sound of Music...that shows off a soprano voice like no other, and is a general audience favorite.

You are young, but if you're ambitious try "Killing me softly". Roberta Flack did it first, but I would listen to the Aretha Franklin version as well to get ideas about what you can do with it. That is, if you're willing to reach. It's such a great song, that's my word.

You should know what you are capable of better than anyone else?? Sing what you know you can sing well.

When I was 11 in the talent show, I sang "Only Hope" from the movie A Walk to Remember. It sounds like it would be perfect for what you are looking for.

Sing something classy, like old jazz (Nat King Cole, Sinatra, etc). It would be interesting and original to see a younger person nail one nice soulful, jazzy tune.

I am eleven too..... I ama very good singer and I am believed to be the best in school. Sing the wizard and i or tommorow

I agree w/ the person before me. Singing The Wizard and I from Wicked would really get you noticed.
