Cant play or tune my guitar for my life!! it's been 2 weeks now and i still

Question:Hi,

Umm...yeah so i've been practicing my guitaring for around...2 weeks now and i still can't do sh!t , i still can't tune up my guitar for christ sake the song i want to play wich is raining blood by slayer i cant! tune!.My guitar is way off tune i don't know how to get it back on track.

Im using tablature to play instead of notes because notes are a big drag and i don't need them if i want to become a rockstar.

Go to the music shop and buy an electronic tuner and get somebody to show you how to use it.

You must learn to read proper musical notation ; tablature is so limiting.

The first thing you have to learn is open chords. Practise these until you can change chords smoothly.

After a few months you can try learning bar chords ; but start with the open chords for now.

Electronic tuner or down load a tuner from on-line. All the pro rock stars have Roodies tune their guitar. So do not waste your valuable babe watching time learning how to tune the guitar.
Professional lessons to learn how to play, shell out a few buck, go talk to the pros. They will get ya started and then you improvise from there.

You can't expect to be able to do **** in 2 weeks. Much less play Raining Blood or any other Slayer. Raining Blood is a song that you will be able to learn about...oh a year into it, and that's if you practice dilligently.

Also, tuning comes with time. You'll eventually learn to recognize notes, but it doesn't come to most people naturally. Go buy an electric tuner (they're like 20$) and use that until you start to recognize notes.

Okay. You need to start actually PRACTICING. Buy a beginner's guitar book or something and LEARN the guitar before you try to learn a song.

For the tuning, I know. It's a pain. Buy a tuner and just sit and mess with it for a bit. Whether you're drop tuning or tuning up, take your time. Don't just turn the pegs all the way; go s-l-o-w.

well i think it takes time because you cant remember what the string sounds like and usually after playing alot of songs then you would get the hang of it and would just tune it straight up and for notes I'm not sure if you mean like chords of something but chords are a big deal in playing guitar so yea that's pretty much it

You've only been playing for two weeks, I've been playing for two years and I'm still not the best. You'll get the hang of it.
