There are a lot of good guitars, and it's a matter of individual taste. I love Ovations, but most guitarists think they should be used for target practice.

So how to find the one that speaks to you?

Go shopping at a good, full-service music store or a national chain like Sam Ash or Guitar Center. If you have any friends or relatives who are knowledgeable about guitars, take them along.

Try out all the acoustics in your price range. You're looking for feel. Even if you can't play, hold the thing and strum it--does your left hand feel good around the neck, left fingers comfortably reaching all strings? Does your right arm drape nicely over the body, fingers brushing the strings near the sound-hole? OK, that's a guitar to consider.

When you have several guitars that feel good, have your friend or the sales clerk play each one while your back is turned. Have them play the same things on each one. The one that sounds best while your back is turned is the one you want.

Buy THAT PARTICULAR guitar. Among acoustics, wood grain and glue drying and other intangible factors mean that there might be a difference in sound among different guitars of the same make/model.

buy the fender squier combo. it comes with the amp and tuner. For a girl with small hands, grab this. It'a a very good deal.
