Position:Home>Performing Arts> How do I preform infront of people with out getting embarresed ?

Question:I really want to play a gig with my band and just have fun with this whole music thing, but I get nervous when I sing in front of people. I can't be terrible because my band mates would tell me if I sucked. Others might be more critical though. What do I do?

The way I got over my stage fright was necessity. I was really poor and needed money, so one day I just opened my violin case on the sidewalk, in a busy street in Waikiki, and just started playing. I was really scared at first, and sounded kind of shitty because of it, but after a half hour I was just playing for fun. The tourist's and people didn't even phase me, because I just got used to being there in front of people. (I also made enough money to get my car out of a very expensive parking lot. :) )

So now, every time I have a big show or something coming up, I go play on the street, and get used to having people stare at me again.

I am in the orchestra and first I'm just like u but then I just imagine that there is no one actually in the audience so I stop nervous. Many people said it doesn't work that way but I work for me though.

Picture people in there underwear!
Also try to perform in front of freinds and parents!
Try not looking at the people your perforimng to

pertend they not there and or they all in under wear or just look stright a head

Okay, now I used to have this problem now I can go in front of anyone including cops or the drug enforcement agency without fear. Seriously. The thing to do, the secret is discipline yourself which at first will be difficult, but the more you work at it the easier it will become. The saying "practice makes perfect" is utterly true. The problem is with many is that no one can usually stick with it because fear always takes over even if people pretend to not be shy or embarresed like I used to, but the problem still remains, but not if you hang in there refusing to go off the hook, (like give up and let fear rule). Good luck oh, and one more thing, practice in front of a mirror is what I did lots of times, and think deeply that you are in front of an audience, and while you are in front of that mirror you act and conduct yourself as you would behave in front of people, but only, remember this now, only that when you practice these drills, remember to have a good attitude just like you would if you were in front of a mega arena stage in front of thousands of people. It works only if you stick to it. Luv, your homie.

Perform in front of 2 people, then 3 people, then 4 people. etc. It works for me and just keep working your way up.

First off, you won't be scared if you practiced well enough to know for sure you won't mess up. Second, be confident, because most people are tone and pitch deaf, so if you're off tune, most people can't even tell. BUt seriuosl;y, PRACTICE.

Lose some weight.
If you look good, you won't care how you sound, and neither will your audience.

Just pretend that there is no one else there, concentrate on what you're doing and don't worry about what other people would think.

JUST DO IT.
