Cello Tuning Help!!!?

Question:My cello's pegs are slipping like crazy, and I really need to know to stop it. I have orchestra before too long, and battle of the bands with my cello-based rock group too. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

First try pushing the pegs in when turning them. More than usual. That sounds obvious but it has worked for me. You may also have to turn them back and then tighten them. You may also have to go to a string store near you and get what they call "peg dope" which allows your pegs to grip the peg box better. If that isn't an option try the other things mentioned here
