first, relax, i have been playing for a while now. Never give up a be persistent. That has gotten me into a jazz and rock band. So here, start by getting a good, well priced guitar, like a washburn or something like that. no more than $200. cheap, but good. Then learn the notes and learn how to lread the staff and tablature. Then learn some chord and remember PRATICE MAKES PERFECT. If you need some FREE SHEET AND TAB MUISIC, ask me an i will be more then happy to give you some site or actual sheet music and tabs. Good luck, and dont be shy, email me, i will help you ALOT!!!!!!. Rock On.

Well ... you need a guitar to begin with. Then ... you mess around with it, either by learning to read music or tablature. Having friends who play helps a great deal. Pick the songs that you really like but are not too complicated and ... well ... it should come naturally. Hate to say it but it's true. It'll be a lot of hard work and perseverance, but if you're serious about it, it'll happen. Work on the technique. No sloppy playing. Ain't nothing "fast" about it.

I'm learning to play bass guitar. what i'm doing is that my family member can play so he teaches me... If no one you know plays acoustic guitar ask your school music teacher and maybe he/she could find you a teacher

There is no fast process, you just practice. Learn the chords here: http://www.8notes.com/guitar_chord_chart...
Practice those, until commited to memory
Then try playing some easy songs. Like :
"Time of your life" - green day
"Times Like These" - Seven Mary Three
or song of your choice.

first do u know how to play any other instraments cause my sis lerned how by transfering music form the violin and the piano to the guitar.

.I believe T R gave you some good advice. I looked at the chord chart and it's basic enough to start with. I just thought I'd add some detail. The numbers on the chord chart indicate the fingers from 1 to 4 starting with your index as 1 to your pinky as 4.

I would not recommend tablature for beginners. You could potentially learn to play improperly.

First learn your chords and know what chord your making.

There is no fast way to learn how to play the guitar....I wish that I had a quarter for every kid who asked that question.....you didn't learn how to read fast did you ??? It takes time and patience and a lot of hard work....practice....practice....practice... I know I teach classical and acoustic guitar and no students are happy at rate of speed that they learn to play.....well if your a genius or have perfect pitch you'll learn very qucikly otherwise it's going to take time. My advice to you is to have a good teacher....privately or at a music school or store. If your impatient then learn a few chords while your learning put them together and play a few songs....but as you'll see even this isn't so easy.....you have to have great strength in your fingers to make barre chords.....and thick callouses on your finger tips before you can even play without pain.....and all this takes time....learn correctly, in the long run it will pay off....if getting a teacher is impossiable for you then try one of the online tutors there are tons of them online.....or get one of the Cd's, videos, or DVD's that they offer.....go on youtube and try one of their free lessons, this will show you that guitar learning is not something that you learn fast, if you don't have the patience for that then being a good musician is not for you.....I'm not trying to be smart it's just that I'm so sick of people who want to learn guitar and their main interest is how fast can I learn, well it's usually up to the student....like I've said, " If your a genius, quickley, or if you have perfect pitch no problem" otherwise it's going to take time, so be paticent !!!!!!!! Good luck to you !!!!!!!!!!

Getting a decent guitar, getting a song book you like with guitar chord charts, learning to play the rhythm. Then moving on to the solos, as an option.
