Question Home

Position:Home>Performing Arts> I'm doing a talent show and we are soposed to dress like you would in the 80

Question:Okay, try this...
Short straight denim skirt, a brightly colored t-shirt in either red, yellow, electric blue, or purple...or a polo shirt in these colors, matching socks, big wide belt, white keds tennis shoes, big chunky earrings that match shirt and socks, roll a brightly colored bandana and wear it around your neck, and big, tightly curly hair with alot of mousse and spritz to keep it in place...You can roll your hair on the small foam rollers you find at the drug store that cost about 2 bucks..or crimp it with a crimping iron...(tip) use a hair dryer on low when your hair is dry and when your hair is blowning away from your face and kinda sticking out,, spritz it!
Or, instead of the skirt, see if you can find a pair of acid washed jeans at the goodwill or a thrift store in your size...and if you are really lucky...LOL..see if you can find a pair of the high spike heeled granny boots in your size...But that might hurt your feet especially if you are dancing, so stick with the keds..

Oh dressing up as 80s is fun. I always go as the hair metal band guy. Heres a website with a bunch of different types of 80s costumes.

look up the internet. Sorry, maybe you haven't that resource. Please, for goodness sake, you have a resource that can take you back to the 80's in a heartbeat and instead of doing that you ask this dumb question.

Go to a vintage clothing store, goodwill, or salvation army and tell one of the workers what you want to do. Watch some 80's movies and music videos (VH1). Ask your folks for inspiration.

girl--crimp you hair in waves, tight rolled jeans, plain t-shirt with the same color socks scruched, and a hair scruchy that matches the t-shirt. for every wear. ----evening wear those dresses that have those poofy sleeves and sequins. hope i helped

Go to youtube and watch some Cyndi Lauper and Pat Benatar videos.
