I can't tune my cello, and it's stressing me out?!?!?

Question:I love the cello, and I love playing it. But I can't tune the thing for crap. My instructor taught me how to and I did a so-so job there, but now im home and it is so frusturating! No matter how hard I push on it and turn the tuning pegs, they just flop back down. I push really hard. Once i get a string tuned, the one next to it just totally fails and loosens dramtically for no reason! Ugh! Any my fine tuners are all loose! Help!

Maybe the pegs are bottoming out ....you should fit fine tuners as well.

Y0u need to put CHALK (yup, filch some from the blackboard in school) on the peg part that needs to grip. Works every time. There is also peg dope that you can buy - but chalk is good.

dont use too much chalk if you use chalk, it does something to the pegs..
peg dope works best.
