Position:Home>Performing Arts> Why do songs move us to tears much more easy than spoken drama?

Question:my piano teacher once said that music speaks to us through a side door in our head, it gets to us in ways that no other things can. i'm not sure why but music can be very strongly linked to emotions and it can definitely elicit feelings where you identify with a situation, or a feeling, even though it's not rational thought or words, it's just... sounds. it's strange, right?

I know some songs really get to the heart
and move your spirit

I don't know. The music just gives me goosebumps then there is no way to stop me from crying.

Well spoken drama is just words where as songs are words and with the tone of the music it has emotion already there

but both can be powerful based on the performance

In songs the rythm, the melody, the modulation and the series of wave patterns and the frequencies in harmonious order-the special arrangement of these factors have stimulating effects on the nervous system,as they are likely the key that unlocks our brain and trigger neurochemical changes in in the brain and thus affects our emotions. Synchronizing "brainwaves" are used to condition emotions and thus affects psychological behavior. Programming these brainwaves can stimulate emotional responses and affects changes of mood, attitude and /or personality. There are brainwave devices on the market today. No ,I'm not introducing any new product...Ok?

It's the way the musics played and then the words of the song...people connect to it...especially if we relate to the words...
