aside form all the various settings of Ave Maria? Not just the famous Schubert version, or the other Bach-Gounod version, but there are literally hundreds of other settings. Worth looking into. There is also a very famous Stabat Mater by the opera composer Giacchini Rossini, that has chorus in it.
An extremely beautiful Christmas song, A Hymn to the Virgin, by Benjamin Britten is written for double chorus. Hauntingly beautiful, as Britten mixes major and minor chords together for a more-or-less medieval effect.
You'll need at least 8 people: 2 sopranos, 2 altos, 2 tenors and 2 basses. It can be performed a cappella, or you can ask to keep the piano in as well.
