Talent show songs?

Im in 8th grade and an alto. I really, REALLY need to beat these people that think they're better than me. What song please?? A current song too, one that an 8th grader would know. acctually, if you could list 2 songs, 1 for single, then another for a duet, that would be great. Thanks for your help!!

love by keyisha cole Singing Stephen Sondheim show tunes always stands out in talent shows. Sing something from "Into The Woods", That song that was sang by "Little Red Riding Hood", or something from "Putnam County Spelling Bee", that song sang by the character Olive Ostrovsky - "I Love my Dictionary". Good luck or break a leg. I wish you luck in the talent show but remember you should sing for the love of singing and performing not to teach those arrogant people a lesson. But, I hope you really show them up lol. I understand. 8th grade was not so wonderful. haha

Alto songs can be challenging to find sometimes but there are some good pretty ones around. Try some songs by Kelly Clarkson (she has some good lower songs also), possibly Hairspray songs, I know this song isnt well known or current but its very good I love to sing and i dont think it will be too high for you: Look to the Rainbow.
