Performers: What's your opinion of karoake nights?

Performers: What's your opinion of karoake nights?

This question is for bona fide singers who play in clubs, dances, make their own records, etc. Do you ever go to Karoake nights just for fun and to hang out? Or is it irritating?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: karoake is very very irritating.Most that get up and sing are drunk and very painful to the ears.if they want to sing they should save it for the shower where they only drive their family and the neighborhood dogs nuts. My husband and I both sing professionally here in our little town. We met at a karaoke night! But we only go sing with a certain kdj. She has been running karaoke in our area for many years and has developed a following of many talented singers. So it is not as painful as a random karaoke night would be. :) If I want to get up and sing, I'll have my guitar with me. I wouldn't be seen dead at a karaoke night. Well I'm not a professional singer or anything, but all I can say is that Karoake night is fantastic. =)
