Question:

Wat is a good song to sing for a middle school play tryout?

the play is oklahoma and the tryouts are tommorrow

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: They'll probably want a Broadway-style song, so I'd look for a music revue. I really love Rodgers and Hart, Gilbert and Sullivan (far too much!), and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Are you fond of musicals? Rent is perpetually trendy, as is Wicked. The songs from Cats and Evita are very well-known as well, and not too difficult to pick up.

Too bad the tryouts are tomorrow; that certainly doesn't give you time to practice and to compose yourself accordingly and almost definitely not enough time to learn a new song. :(

Maybe a mainstay that's both entered into the popular lexicon and innoffensive? Music from 'Beaches' (id est, "Wind Beneath My Wings") or 'Dirty Dancing' ("Time of My Life") -- you know, something you probably already know and that the faculty sponsor or music teacher will probably already have on hand.

When auditions were called for my school's student run auditions, we had a lot of people who used either Disney songs or current Top Forty Radio songs. with me by sum 41
