Question:

Right or left handed guitar?

I had a right handed guitar for about a year then sold it due to frustration, now I miss it so I'm ready to try again. I was wondering since i'm left handed if it'd be easier with a lefty guitar this time around.

The problem was I had a hard time strumming, I dont know if that was due to using my right hand or I was just bad. haha. Playing guitar hero (yes i know its completely different) it feels really weird I cant change frets with my right hand when its on lefty flip but I dont know about the stumming since its a button. I kinda think I could improve with practice, and strengthing my right hand.

If you were me would you just go with another right handed guitar or try a left handed one this time?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: i'd try reversing the string pattern and play as a lefty, after you change ,turn upside down ,it even looks like a left, jusy remember top string on bottom, bottom string on top, flip and play I am left handed I just turn the guitar up side down and play it, no problems Jimi Hendrix had the same issue, I believe he worked out the best solution for himself by himself, be inspired. listen. guitar was meant to be played from a 'right-handed stance'. if you are left-handed, you actually have an advantage due to the fact that your prominent hand would be doing the more challenging tasks on the fingerboard. good luck!
