Oh, Im auditioning for your a good man Charlie Brown, In the first audition I did a song from the show too. And Im from Canada, so if I sing the american national anthem....that would not be good You're a Good Man Charlie Brown is a pretty upbeat musical overall, so I would suggest an upbeat song. Do you know what role you are most interested in? If you're looking at Sally, something uptempo and soprano in range would be a good bet, like perhaps Popular from Wicked, or something of that ilk. Lucy is more of a mezzo or alto role, so if you were interested in that role, pick something more suited to that register. Try to pick something unique that you don't think other auditioners will be singing. I've sat in on the casting side of musical auditions, and there's little worse than having tons of people sing the same song. Anything that will make you stand out from the rest (in a good way) is always helpful to getting good parts, as the director is much more likely to remember who you are when going through everything at the end of the day. I'd also suggest sticking with songs from musicals, as style-wise it will be more complimentary to you auditioning for one. Amazing Grace

The National Anthem always shows your range, too. well wich one do u feel comfortable with and u know all the lyrics to Bet On It; I Got Nerve; Don't sing Amazing Grace. It's so typical and boring... try something exciting. Like something from the movie Grease! I'll give you a choice of three that I love to hear in audition:

1) A House Is Not A Home

2) How Do I Live (Without You)

3) You Make Me Feel Brand New Well I guess it depends on what you are auditioning for... if you are auditioning for a musical, pick a song from a musical (not a TV/movie only musical like HSM- too cliche for the real musical theatre buffs); if you are auditioning for a talent show, do just an all around great song that gets remembered to the very end- but in any case you need to pick song that embodies you as a performer- and one that fits your voice so there is never a note that is not comfortable and strong. Pick a song they remember you for, and make it your own! Best of luck! fully alive by flyleaf
