my boyfriend is in a band I wish that you would have said what style, chords, notes, or finger style, I play classical guitar myself....and If I were to play solo guitar I would play finger style.....I think solo songs sound better played that way. So I'm going to give you my recomendations for fingers style....if that's incorrect I'm sorry...but you didn't specify ! Hal Leonard has a book out called, "The Very Best of Fingerstyle Guitar", you can get this at his web site or Sam Ash. The music is in notation, tab, and chords, and are very easy, you also didn't say what level of playing your at. Songs included in this book that you may like are : Tears In Heaven, Yesterday, Canon in D, Everything I do I Do It For You, (Brian Adams), My Heart Will Go On, from the Titanic, etc. Hal Leonard also has another one called, "Fingerpicking Acoustic" which is written in the same manner. Songs include : Time in a Bottle, Hey Jude, Blowin' In The Wind, In My Life, You've Got a Friend, etc. These songs sound very nice played finger style, most of my students love them because they sound so professional, but are easy to play. If your not into any of these songs check his site for more books he has quite a few for this style of playing, if your not into finger style playing and don't know how, try the chords....it won't sound as good played this way....so I hope that you can play fingerstyle....good luck to you....and please next time say what style of playing that you want these songs for....bye !!!!!!!!! Leonard has so many sites....so just google this Hal Leonard music books, and go from there !!!!!! Pick some nice three or four chord folk, or folk/rock songs.

They should be easy to play and sing, and people will recognize them.

A few Beatles tunes would suit the moment fine.
