Question:

Scalari's feelings towards Mozart?

everything i look up about the two together, is in some different language. what was Scalari's feelings about Mozart?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Are you speaking specifically about the play/movie, or in real life?

Both were fairly famous composers of their day. Scalari was already quite famous when Mozart burst onto the scene.

Scalari was very much jealous of Mozart's skills. Still, he was quite impressed by Mozart's abilities. The rest of his life saw this competition between hatred and admiration - even after the death of Mozart at a young age. Do you mean Salieri?

They were both composers during the same period, who both worked in and around the court of Emperor Joseph II. Their paths may have crossed, but there is no evidence of any rivalry.

In Peter Schaffer's play Amadeus (which was made into a movie as well), Salieri, jealous of Mozart's talent murders him. This is, however a work of fiction. It's Salieri. Watch the movie, read the book. Okay, the movie "Amadeus" is incorrect in how they portrayed Antonio Salieri.

In fact Salieri and Mozart were friends, not enemies who constantly tried to 1-up each other.
