Question:

Anyone else remember him?

Marcel Marceau, who revived the art of mime and brought poetry to silence, has died, his former assistant said Sunday. He was 84.

Got to see him perform several times, only mime I could watch. RIP

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Yes, I saw him on TV, on a PBS program, on the Muppet Show, and of course, in Mel Brooks' Silent Movie.

I saw him on Broadway in the early 1980's, and he really showed how mimw is mporethan jhust invisible walls and walking against the wind. His "Soldier's Story" ( or whatever it was called) was very powerful.

I last saw him at the Alliance Francaise in NYC. He did some performance and talked a bit. I am very annoyed that some guy took time out of the session to alsk him if he thought that leaders of all the world's religions should get together and form one new religion for all the world. Marceau did not really understand the wustion and I am especially upset that with the Master of Mime there, for two hours, one of the things I remember most was that.

I was a little upset when I heard that he did not think children should be tought mime, and I had wanted to ask him about that.

He was an unforgettable performer. I cannot say enough about a man who showed that sometimes the human body can make words unnecesary.

http://www.captainzorikh.com Yes - I believe he was the most famous of the mime's.
Started the field of mime. I thought he had already passed
we also lost Alice Ghostly this week. I remember seeing him on TV in the 70's many times. Of course....most people do.....years ago if you saw a black and white face and a man in motion with no sound you knew who it was....he was the only mime that I really ever heard of that was famous !!!!!! RIP Mr. Marceau !!!!!!! I did not know him.
