Meisel brand instruments?

Meisel brand instruments?

i'm currently renting a meisel viola from a rental company.
the condition of the top side is horrible,(scratches,dents,peic... of wood chipped off). but the sound quality and outstanding. my question is if i should keep it or buy another instrument. i was thinking i could get it restored. anyone know any instrument crafters in NY?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If the sound is that good, definitely keep it and do what's needed to make it look nice. If you try finding one that looks better, chances are it will not sound as good as the one you're happy with and you might regret it. Sound is more important!!!!
