Question:

How do I increase my vocal range?

This question is from my younger brother. How can I increase my vocal range. I can only match the pitch from low C to a middle D on a piano, only one octave. If I try to sing an E my vocal cords stress and I cannot get it. How can I hit higher notes. We don't have money for vocal lessons and no chorus I can join.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: For now, focus on your current range and practice like CRAZY on the notes in your 'comfort range' (or, the notes your voice is MOST comfortable singing) Try not to sing the E for a month or so, then- gradually- try for the E flat and eventually the E.
